Home Again
Early January 2018 marked a week that I have been living dangerously back in the USA since my recent visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I flew out of LAX on December 17, stayed in the air for approximately 22 hours, and landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, aka Saigon. I flew to Vietnam to visit my girlfriend and now my fiancée, Nghia.
My relationship with Nghia moved quickly once those three little words were uttered. I made it to Vietnam to confirm what we felt was real, and to begin researching ways to bring Nghia to the USA.
I Create TV Show Ideas and Write Books
During this week I have been dangerously busy. I have my first scheduled TV pitch conference on February 13-14 and my first non-fiction book, 4 Years to a TV Deal should be available on Amazon. The goal is also to have my neo-noir action thriller novel, A Perfect Weapon, available for purchase sometime in the first quarter of 2018. The delay is caused by my indecision over whether to make the book a graphic novel or not. I decided not to go the graphic novel route.
So it’s been a week of planning and strategizing and getting myself ready for the work yet to come. It should be fun. I had a good FaceTime kick-off meeting with my partner-in-crime.
USCIS Visa Process: K1 or CR1
The visa process is in pre-production. I have a lot of things to gather and understand before I begin. At this point, there are two options, the K1 Fiancé Visa and the CR1 Spousal Visa. The latter means I can start the paperwork now. The Spousal visa requires me to fly back to Vietnam and marry Nghia ASAP.
In between I’ve been texting and video chatting with my Nghia and lamenting the 22,000 miles between us. However, to get the ball rolling I’ve begun requesting the paperwork necessary to bring her to the USA. We talked about getting married in a small ceremony on the beach in the Spring.
